How does the Comprehensive Perishable Protection [Full Coverage] policy work?
Our optional Comprehensive Perishables Protection (Full Coverage) is underwritten by the UPS Capital Insurance Agency, Inc., and covers your shipment for all losses, including spoilage from delays, damage, theft, and lost shipments.

- $100,000 per occurrence (ex., If you had fifty $2000 shipments lost on the same plane or truck, you're covered)

Delay Endorsement
Delay Coverage is only included where the first delivery attempt is made after the scheduled delivery for the service levels as set forth below. Delay coverage will not apply if a UPS or FedEx service guarantee is suspended. Coverage applies to packages shipped using the corresponding service level of each carrier, where available:
UPS Shipments:
Domestic U.S. UPS Next-Day Air® , UPS Next-Day Air Saver® , and UPS Next-Day Air Early®:
Delay Coverage applies only if the number of UPS Delivery Days after the UPS pickup date exceeds 1 Day.
Domestic U.S. UPS Second-Day Air® and UPS Second-Day Air A.M.® :
Delay Coverage applies only if the number of UPS Delivery Days after the UPS pickup date exceeds 2 Days.
Domestic U.S. UPS Three-Day Select:
Delay Coverage applies only if the number of UPS Delivery Days after the UPS pickup date exceeds 3 Days.
Domestic U.S. UPS Ground:
Delay Coverage applies only if delivery occurs exceeding 1 day after the UPS Scheduled Delivery Date.
Delay Coverage shall not apply to packages shipped via UPS Ground service levels that are picked-up or scheduled for delivery during the fourteen (14) calendar days prior to December 25.
FedEx Shipments:
FedEx First Overnight®, FedEx Priority Overnight, and Standard Overnight
Delay Coverage applies only if the number of FedEx Delivery Days after FedEx pickup date exceeds 1 Day.
FedEx 2Day®a.m. and FedEx 2Day
Delay Coverage applies only if the number of FedEx Delivery Days after FedEx pickup date exceeds 2 Days.
FedEx Express Saver®
Delay Coverage applies only if the number of FedEx Delivery Days after FedEx pickup date exceeds 3 Days.
FedEx Ground
Delay Coverage applies to shipments exceeding 1 Delivery Day after the FedEx scheduled delivery date.
Delay Coverage shall not apply to packages shipped via FedEx Ground service levels that are picked-up or scheduled for delivery during the fourteen (14) calendar days prior to December 25.
EXCLUDED CAUSES FOR DELAY
Coverage does not apply to shipments that are delayed due to causes beyond UPS’s or FedEx’s control, including the following:
(b) forces of nature or natural disasters, including but not limited to natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods, named storms, blizzards, hurricanes, tornadoes, volcanic eruptions, mudslides, monsoons, and fires caused by lightning;
(c) acts of public authorities acting with actual or apparent authority;
(d) acts or omissions of customs or similar authorities or authority of law;
(e) insufficient information provided by a customer, including incorrect addresses and missing suite numbers;
(f) Hazardous Materials (as such term is defined in the UPS Tariff/Terms and Conditions of Service or FedEx’s Terms of Use);
(g) packages inadequately packed for sustainability during transit;
(h) the application of security regulations imposed by the government or otherwise applicable to the shipment, riots, strikes or other labor disputes, civil unrest, disruptions in national or local air or ground transportation networks (including, but not limited to, UPS’s transportation network or FedEx’s transportation network);
(i) disruption or failure of communication and information systems, or
(j) any requested hold or rerouting of the package by the customer/shipper/consignee.

Consequential Coverage Included
An Insured who purchases the Comprehensive Perishable Coverage provided by this endorsement shall be covered against certain consequential losses, consisting exclusively of those listed below, provided any such damages arise as a result of a UPS shipment or a FedEx shipment that is tendered for shipment in accordance with the UPS Tariff/Terms and Conditions of Service or FedEx Terms of Use or other valid written contractual agreement with UPS or FedEx, and where UPS or FedEx fails to attempt delivery within the timeframe applicable under this Endorsement corresponding to the eligible service level.
In the event of an eligible delay under this Endorsement, then coverage shall include actual, special, incidental, and consequential damages actually incurred by the Named Insured to the extent reasonable and limited to the following:
a) any provable Penalties at fifty percent (50%) of insured value up to $25,000 actually incurred by the Insured.
b) any provable Extra Costs and Expenses at fifty percent (50%) of insured value up to $25,000 actually incurred by the Insured, limited to the following:
i. Document reconstruction costs;
ii. Loss of customers or damage to goodwill or damage to reputation;
iii. UPS Guaranteed Service Refunds (GSRs); or
iv. Liquidated damages of any type.
