How does the Box Packing Algorithm work?

Our algorithm can use product dimensions, quantity, or weight to choose the appropriate box size for your order. The way it works is it tries to use the smallest box size possible for the order and moves to a bigger size or splits the order into multiple shipments if the order cannot fit. The Algorithm can be enabled for ALL future orders in Preset -> Options -> Box Packing Algo by Dimensions / by Quantity / by Weight

It can also be enabled for a single Order on the creation page

By Dimensions

The Dimensions Algorithm will take into account all of the Product Dimensions to choose the appropriate Box size, by matching them to the Box Outer or Inner Dimensions.

Product Dimensions are set in Preset -> Products -> Edit -> Length/Width/Height

Box Dimensions are set in Preset -> Boxes -> Either using outside box Dimensions (default) or Enable Inner Box Dimensions and input

Inner Box Dimensions (optional) = Usable space within your box for the Product (excluding space taken up by liner, ice packs, or other packing material). If Enabled, Outer dimensions are ignored.

By Quantity

The Quantity Algorithm takes into account how many products are in an Order and chooses the appropriate box size. Your boxes need to have Maximum Items Enabled and a number input for the Algorithm to work. This can be set in Preset -> Boxes -> Edit -> Maximum Items

By Weight

The Weight Algorithm calculates the combined weight of the products in an Order to choose the appropriate box. A Maximum Weight must be set for your Boxes in Preset -> Boxes -> Edit -> Maximum Weight
